Cost object problem with current date and future date

Hi everybody,

I have an issue on Costing object

While creating PO w.r.t. pur requistion with current date i.e., 04.09.2008 system able to post it. But same PO with future date i.e., 04.09.2009 system will not able to post and threws error message like

"Account 1005001 requires an assignment to a CO object"

Why system is not asking an assignement to a CO object if we give current date in PO and why system is asking assignment to a CO object if give future date in PO?

Cost element : 1005001

Analysis periods : 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2008

01.01.2009 to 31.12.9999

Hi,

I presume, the problem is not in the cost element validity, but in that of your cost object: cost centre or internal order - you did not provide this information. Check the validity of your cost centre KS03 or internal order (KO03) and see if the problem persists.

My doubt is why system is asking cost object assignment if i can enter future dates and why system is not asking cost object assignment if i can enter current date

Hi,

This does not depends on a date, of course, if you have cost element with the validity that covers both dates. Please, check if you provided CO object in 2008 and whether you use the same account assignment for the items in your PO.
