Hi,

In simple words NWDI is used to manage life cycle of your product development.

you can manage flow of your project. keep track of its various phases like development testing.

basicly it keeps the information about your repository (DTR) where your source code lies. and information about various servers used throught life cycle e.g development, testing, production..

A DC is nothing but an individual component (any WD, java, EJB or portal) developed by developers. which contains a source and information about the track where it belongs

check following

Hi,

DC----- Development Component

this can be used as a stand alone DC's or can use in NWDI to work in team environment.

with out using NWDI you can develop web dynpro DC's which will be called your local DC's.

If you use NWDI these DC's will be stored in Tracks and any other can use this DC given the permissions.

Here is the thread for all details on NWDI
