How to repeate backup function in Server Manager or What files'd be chosen?

Hi, all

Our client want to know how will they do to backup applications and their data automatically.

Please let me know if you have any information regarding below.

- how to perform the backup functions on BPC Server Manager periodicaly

- which tables or files on SQL Server and which folders and files should my client choice to backup when they use software to backup (e.g. ArcServe or BackupExec) instead of BPC Server Manager?

I know the later question depends on how we create the application sets, but for instance how about in ApShell? What files should be backuped if my client want to backup the whole ApShell not using Server Manager?

I also want to know how my client will be able to check or research the files that they should sellect to backup when they design the automatic backup sysem, if possible.

any information will be welcomed.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Hiroki,

unfortunatly the Backup via Servermanager cant be scheduled (I still dont know why).

But its not that hard to build a own SSIS Package that creates the same Backup as the Server Manager does. These "selfmade" Backups can be restored via Servewr Manager then.

Just look into a Backup from Servermanager, its only a zipped File with 3 Folders.

    1. Database Backup

    2. Cube backup

    3. Zipped Webfolder of your Applicationset (%InstallPath%BPCDATAWebfolders\%AppsetName%)

But there is also a good documentation how to do a Backup without using Servermanager or own Packages.

    Have a look [Here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20a26f50-4252-2a10-8c97-a2c7058cd804]
