Serial No maintaince for a transacted material Code

Dear Sir

We have not used the Serial No maintaince for a material code but now we want to maintain it with respect to Purchases, so that we can use the same in sales also.

But now the problem is system does not permit me to change the master for those material already transaction has been done or stock is avaiable.

Pls guide.

Dear Mr Ray,

From what I understood you want to change the selection managed by Serial Number from no to yes, but even if you issue all the quantity in stock still you cannot update the option.

Can you please tell me what is the error msg that you receive?

Hi,

If you try to change Selected Serial/Batch Management Method for an Item

with on hand quantity, you will get error: 'You cannot modify the

'Manage Item by' setting unless the on hand quantity is zero and there

are no available serial or batch number.'

But Sir, I tried making the Stock to Zero (0) also but even after doing that also system does not allow me to do so.

Is It because of I have already done some Sale and Purchase Transaction.

Or is there any other method.
