Unable to save favorites and templates in IBP Excel

I am not able to save or update favorites and templates in IBP. However it is a random problem, every once in a while it works 1-2 times and then I get the error again.

I had installed the previous Version of the IBP add-in and had no issues up to the time when I acitvated the template add-in SAP_IBP_Chart.xlam according to note 1790530. At least that is the only thing I changed around the time when the issues started. Updating the IBP add-in to 1802 did not change anything. SAP Support suspected a Proxy issue, but everything seems to be ok here. I have also tried deactivating the SAP_IBP_Chart.xlam add-in but no change.

Error screenshot attached
Translation into english: favorite / template can not be saved, please try again. If the problem persists please save locally and contact your Administrator.

Any hints are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Maike

Hello Maike,

without knowing the details of the answers in the ticket, did you try to not only disable the .xlam file but to completely remove it from the

%appdata%\Microsoft\AddIns

folder?

And then try with either no template and just a plain planning view or the "Embedded" version of the VBA Planning View Template.
With that you could at least check if the issue is at all caused by the .xlam installment.

Best Regards
Anna

Hi Anna,

thanks for the tip, I removed the file completely and managed to save and update both favorites and templates. It worked both for plain data as well as the embedded file. Let's see if it is now solved permamenently.

Question however, if I don't have the Chart add-in and open a template from my connected planning area which is not based on the embedded Version... does that mean the Chart area won't work? So far I don't see a difference...

Thanks,

Maike

Hi Maike,

From what I understood you have an incident with Product Support already opened. I would suggest following up on it, since from there the message "favorite / template can not be saved, please try again. If the problem persists please save locally and contact your Administrator." can be analyzed in the HANA Index Server logs to determine the exact root cause.

Best,

Ivan
