Universal Worklist UWL iview error

Hi All,

I have configured UWL as per the SAP's config guides

ep is 6.0 SP22

ITS 620

R/3 is 4.7

Now I have assigned the Universal Worklist and assigned it to a role...my user ID also has the role

All the users assigned to that role are able to see the items in the Tasks tab.....

but when they click on the work items available they are getting "Portal Runtime Error"

but this is not happening to my IDu2026u2026except my user id for every user they are getting the same erroru2026..

in the log files I noticed the following error message

com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Access is denied: com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui.UWLAction - user: <XXXXXXXX>

in place of <XXXXXXXX> the name of the portal user is coming upu2026.

but this not happening to my user id...i am able to click the link and then approve / reject the leave request...but those users are not getting the approve/reject screen at all...

I confirmed that every user has read permissions to the system....also the End User check boz is selectedu2026.

What can be the problem?

thanks

    Hi P K

Have you checked the portal permissions on all the UWL related iviews.

I guess your user has the super_admin or one of the other admin roles that give you access to the iviews by default.

Set the permissions on the buildt in group Everyone to "end user" (check the box) check if it works....

Because setting the permissions yo Everyone is not so save undo it and set the permissions for your specific roles so only roles that need UWL access can have it.

    Cheers,

      Hi All,

      the problem is solved.

Actually I did assign the read permissions and also selected the "End User" box but still the problem was not rectified.

Then i checked the "Security Zones" under SystemAdministration --> Permissions --> Portal Permissions --> Security Zones.... here i selected my UWL folders and checked their permissions......surprisingly i found that the EndUser check box is not selected here even though i did the permission settings for the concerned roles in the portal content......here (in security zones) the End User box was not selected which was causing all the problems......so i selected the EndUser check box here tooo...then the problem got rectified

      thanx all...

selected the concerned roles as "End User" for the UWL folders in Security Zones which rectified the problem
