Change Request Management: concept

We have a 3 system landscape and would like to implement ChaRM scenario for the following case:

1) DEV:100, the developers develop here. The transport from DEV:100 to DEV:200 take place

2) DEV:200, in order to have a real environment for the developers we copy twice a year the data from PRD system (e.g. PRD:200), but we should also have the customizing data from DEV:100

3) DEV:200, the developer is satisfied with the test. Transport from DEV:200 to QAS:200 take place.

4) QAS:200, the tester is satisfied with correction. The transport from QAS:200 to PRD:200 take place.

How to map this process in ChaRM (transport routes, system roles in SOLMAN)?

How to realize the step 2) and synchronize data here (customizing data from DEV:100) with ChaRM or not?

Any helpful information will be very appreciated!

    Hi Holger,

You'll need to make sure that STMS configuration is correct. So a consolidation route from different objects from DEV:100 to DEV:200; from DEV:200 a delivery route to QAS:200; from QAS:200 a delivery route to PRD:200. In ChaRM DEV:100 needs the system role 'source system', DEV:200 and QAS:200 will get system role 'target system' and PRD:200 has system role 'production system'.

Synchronization of data to DEV:200 when a refresh is done, will not be possible to do it automatically with ChaRM as ChaRM only adds changes to the import queue of the next system when it's released from the DEV system. However ChaRM can help you to give you very easy an overview of all changes that were done and using this information you can easily build the import queue again.

    Hope this helps!
