How to Configure Maintenance Optimizer?

How to Configure Maintenance Optimizer? I finish my SAP Solution Manager 7.0 SP15 installation, now i want to configure the maintenance optimizer, and i have already been in SAP Marktplace in section of Maintenance Optimizer and there i didn´t see any document which explain with detail how do that!!

I asked a friend how to overcome this issue and he tells me there are a .PDF manual called (I am not sure) -- Step by step Solution Manager / Maintenance Optimizer 4.0 configuration -- I´m not sure that is the name of document... but i can not find him...

Please help me... You have already heard this document? If yes, where is he? Where can I download it??... I´m desperate!!

Hi João Dimas,

I think your friend told you about this document,

but you can follow the procedure described in the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG):

Transaction SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Advanced Configuration -> Basic Settings -> SAP Solution Manager System -> Change Management -> Set Up Maintenance Optimizer.

--> First at all, Roel Beckers, that two paths that you recommend refers to a tcode SPRO? Correct, I´m right??

--> Nick Fedorov thanks for the document, i suppose that is what I was search... . I had already read that path (SPRO ... ) that you recommend in IMG book and in this note 1024932, but what is very weird in that statement is that´s not correct, because this path in my system don´t reach at these result!

- Why?? I don´t know but i don´t see that path in SPRO...

- Ah one more question, where do you got that document, in which site?

 Why?? I don´t know but i don´t see that path in SPRO...  

IMG Structure was changed, as of Solution Manager SP12 you can find this activity here:

Transaction SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basic Settings -> Solution Manager -> Basic BC-Sets for Configuration -> Activate Maintenance Optimizer BC-Set

 - Ah one more question, where do you got that document, in which site? 

Use search in SAP Service Marketplace and you'll find it.

I get the following error when I try to activate the Maintenance Optimizer BC Set.

What might be going wrong?

How do I verify the Solution manager version? The System Info shows:

Hi All,

I am also getting the same error when activating MOPZ. Before this i have defined the system landscape and assign S-User.

So i need to do anything more before activating the same?? And is saprouter configured before this??

Yes, You have to configure SAProuter first.

When you finish the configration, you can use SM59 to test if you are success.

Hi,

I got also this error message when I try to configure Maintenance Optimizer on Solman 7 EHP1. However, I found out that maintenance optimizer is already configured since I have finished the initial and basic setup from transaction code "solman_setup"

If you were using the Optimizer before going to SP15, make sure you implement note 1140822 This takes away a column that was not suppose to be included in the release; as it does hose things up a bit.

Sorry Ryan Cossette, I´m newest in SAP world, and perhaps that is the main reason, but I don´t understand what you said...

In my case I only installed the SAP Sol Man 7.0 with SP15 incorporate, what you want to recommend/alert me with your previous post?

Can you explain in more detail?

These two IMG paths in your SolMan should help you:

- SAP SolMan > Configuration > Basic Settings > Standard Configuration > Solution Manager > Basic BC-Sets > Activate Maintenance Optimizer BC Set

- SAP SolMan > Configuration > Change Management > Maintenance Optimizer (Software Lifecycle Manager)
