customer master data - region

Hi,

what is the logic behind displaying/not displaying field 'region' in customer master data ( XD02/XD03 ), please ?

Is it country or account group dependent ? ( i know where to set the regions for a country, and customizing for field 'region' is on 'optional entry' )

I was mistaken when stating that customizing was on 'optional entry'.

When going to OVT0 for a customer account group, and then choose General data, Address, Region can be suppressed for some account groups...

I'll change question on answered now... thank you....

Hi Rolf..

As said by Eli region is used for address purpose.. Certain standard letters (like correspondence) need this address and if not present, will result in giving an error.

Hence its advisable to input this data for all the masters..

Hi,

In some countries, the region forms part of the address. The meaning depends on the country. It has nothing to do with accout group. For example: Japan - Prefecture.
