XI involving IDOCs

Hi All,

My first question would be , can an XML have characters with any other language like chinese , japanese etc?

Second part of the question is , what do I need to map the chinese characters to an IDOC. Do I need to do any conversions or a one to one mapping suffice my requirement?

Thanks and Regards

Sekhar

    Hi Sekar,

The answer for your first question is, you cannot have chinese characters in an XML... Because there is no conversion possible for it...

    Thanks and regards,

    Suresh

    Hello Suresh,

I used BIG5 encoding...it takes chinese chars.....but I think XI doesnt accept anything other than UTF-8....correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks and Regards

Well, you can use the corresponding modules in a Channel to search & replace any special character (for example, á,ë,î to a,e,i) and so on

but to work with a complete language with special characters?

so not sure about that.. maybe check the File type and Encoding should help
