Reports:Filter

Hi,

When looking at the BW Reports after the data load, the user found when

she pulled up a certain hierarchy, she also received a large

number of IOs that are listed as not being assigned. The IOs represent

IOs from prior years or possibly IOs that have balances in 2008 due to a

carryforward. Now, the issue is she does not want to see these objects in unassigned nodes when she is executing this report.

So,I have asked her to set a filter on these objects. Can u give some other suggestions as setting a filter might lead to performance issues. Also, when we filter , can we directly do it in the production system?

Thanks,

Samir

Give us some more techncial details.

What hierarchy???? what info object ??? is it from SAP HR???

If you are talking about ORGUNIT hierarchy, and seeing all unassigned orgunits, then you need to create an authorization object to restrict users from seeing all those unassigned nodes.

      Hi,

It is a VSSM heirarchy. And it is some internal orders which are showing up as unassigned objects.Actually we have 2 other heirarchies VSSM02, VSSM03 .When we r executing the report for VSSM,the Internal orders of VSSM are coming as assigned. But additionally, the IO's of other two heirarchies are coming into the report under unassigned nodes. So, it is the way being loaded from the source system.Hence, we have to do something in the BW side to remove these unassigned internal orders from the report. Please advise. It is not SAP HR.

      Thanks,

      Samir

    Hi,

Usually filter fill improve the performance. Hence Restrict the unassigned node of Heir Value in Filter area of query design. Fix the value if there is no variable for the Heir. by doing so whole query will be filter keeping not assigned values out of report.

    Regards,

    Vishwa.
