SAP HR Time Management

Hi Team,

I am doing a project in SAP HR as part of my SAP HR course.

This project is for a Paper industry and as you know machines have to run 24/7 .I was configuring Periodic work schedule and was not able to configure it.

Here is the scenario:

Here the employees work in four different shifts:

A-General shift( 9:00 am - 18:00 pm)

B-Morning shift( 6:00 am- 14:00 pm)

C-Afternoon shift( 14:00 pm- 22:00 pm)

D-Nightshift ( 22:00 pm - 6:00 am)

Only management level employees will work in general shift and i could write periodic work schedule for it.

I was not able to write periodic work schedule for the other shifts.

Here the employees working in the shifts B,C,D and are rotated for every 2 days in a week (i.e. each employee will work each shift only for two days ).

For example:

'X' employee if starts working in B shift he will work two days in B shift, then 2 days in C shift and 2 days in D shift and will have a week off.

Kindly guide me to configure the periodic work schedules for B,C and D shifts.

Regards,

Thanam

Swetha,

Arun is correct. He is saying that PWS name should be same and it shoud have two sequence numbers. In sequence #1 the shifts should be indicated and in the second pws,If you say all days are free/off,that week is off.

How these rotation PWS works is,for the 1st week it foloows the sequence number 1 and then goes to sequnce number 2 for the next week, which is supposed to be off in this scenario again it comes back to s.no 1 on the 3 rd week.

Hi,

Here you will have to create 3 PWS.

If your requirement is to give one week (6 days off) then the above solution is correct. but you will have to define 3 PWS. One starting with B, one with C and one with B. Plese follow the instructions given previously.

If your requirement is one day off (on 7th day) then create 3 PWS as follows.

1. B , B, C, C, D, D, OFF

2. C, C, D, D, B, B, OFF

3. D, D, B, B, C, C, OFF

Thanks,

Preetham

Hi Team,

Thanks very much for your response.

In general periodic work schedule works as Venkat said. Correct me if i am wrong.

According to Arun the first week will go like this B,B,C,C,D,D,FREE and the second week full goes FREE means all days off.As my client belongs to Paper industry machines should run 24/7(I.e.If a employee is having off on a day there should be another employee who will be working on that day).

Arun: I am a bit confused with your PWS.Kindly can tell me how it works for my client.

PreethamRoy:

I tried the same way before i posted this question as u said but i have a doubt init.As there is off on the seventh day there should be some one working on that day too because the machines shouldnu2019t stop as it is 24/7.Should I have to create any other relieving shift in order to over come this.

Kindly let me know if my understanding is wrong.

Thanam

Create PWS with sequence Number #1 as Arun suggested and on the 7 th day, assign Flex daily work schedule(24x7)

2.Create a paid absence type and record that for the employees who are scheduled off on that day/Week.

In table V_T551A, you can define your period work schedule. First define a PWS and have 2 rows for this PWS (001 and 002). In 001, you should have entries like this: B, B, C, C, D, D, FREE. In 002, you should entries like this: FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE.

where: B is the daily work schedule for morning shift.

C is the daily work schedule for afternoon shift.

D is the daily work schedule for night shift.

FREE is day off.
