Can not acess NW7 ABAP Trial System from another PC

Hello,

I have installed NW7 trial version and was able to access it from my PC via localhost and from any other PC by using my computer name as a host. Then all of a sudden, without me making any changes, I can only access it from my PC by using localhost. I can successfully ping my computer from another PC, but can not access the system via GUI anymore from anywhere other then my PC where it is installed.

The error says : "partner not reached...'

Does anyone know how to solve it?

Thanks,

Alex

    Guess one: firewall...

Guess two: loopback adapter. Once on a network, disable the loopback adapter (if present) befor starting the application server. It sometimes acts as a default gateway (in my experience) and prevents outgoing network traffic from reaching the real network adapter.

The firewall was the first thing that I checked, and it is turned off.

I have disabled loopback adaptor and have rebotted the machine, but the issue still exists.

Have you tested other network functionality?

For instance: Create a network share and try to reach that from another pc.

I was able to figure out the issue. Even though the name of my machine is static but IP adress lock period in our company is 3 days. I am still not sure why IP matters since the reference is by the name, but it does. Once I plugged in new IP address in server name it worked. To get WebDynpro application working I also had to create an entry in host file.

    Regards,

    Alex
