Asset Transfer from Plant to Plant

Hi experts,

I want to transfer Asset from one plant to other plant with in the same client.

Excise duty is applicable when i am transferring from one plant to other plant ( the sending plant is in Bangalore and the receiving plant is in Haryana)

Please guide me with step by step procedure.

Dear Bala,

If u want to transfer an asset that should be creat as a Material, the same should link with Chapter id then u have to maintain all the tax rate for the material then u do the stock transfer

do you store asset?

Usually asset is an accounting entry only.

An assets transfer between two different plant is not possible as these assets are non-stock items without having any material code

But...if you manage ur assets as non valuated materials then you can move it thru one step or stock transport order and can add delivery costs as well.

In any case assets are not materials so no valuation transfer is possible thru this transfer. Only quantity can be monitored.

Dear Jurgen,

I am experiencing the same problem. The business wants to track the movements of handsets back to the warehouse, after they have been made assets. I said that i dont know for a similar standard solution in SAP, since assets and materials are different categories, but there is business logic in such a case, so i keep on trying to find a solution.

Have you got any ideas, any additional developments that may be done?
