CR 10 to CR XI Migration

Hello All,

I am using Crystal Reports 10. I am publishing and scheduling these reports in CE10. Now I am plannig to upgrade to CR XI. I want to know the reports in CR XI designer will work with CE 10 or not. If not then which product I have to use for scheduling, publishing etc?

Hi Manish

When attempting to connect CR XI to CE10, you will receive an error:

Access Denied: You cannot log onto an older version of the CMS.

Also, support for CE10 has ended.

You need upgrade your CE10 to Crystal Report Server XI if you are planning to upgrade to CRXI ELSE you can upgrade from CE10 to Crystal Report Server XI R2 if you are planning to upgrade to CRXI R2.

It is recommended to have same version for Crystal Report with Crystal Report Server.

If you have reports that were designed or edited in CR10 then they will be fine in CE10.

Utilizing reports created or edited in CRXI or above (R2 or R3) with CE10 is not recommended or supported.

Any functionality or changes to XI or above will either not work in CE10 (older product) or could cause issues.

Rule of thumb: Use the same version of Enterprise that you use to create or edit reports.
