Profit center

Hi,

I have created one gl (1001123) and same as created as cost element, for this gl a/c profit center made as reqd field. Now i am posting MIRO, system threws error message like "Field Prof.Segmt is a required field for G/L account 1001123"

If i can remove this field from mandatory to optional then system creates accounting doc as well but if it is mandatory why system threws error? We need to put as mandatory and need to post it...how?

can anybody help on this

As you said you made Profit center is mandatory which is one of the profitability segment,in general, so when ever you are doing MIRO just like a FB60 it is asking you a profit center coz it is looking back in its masterdata and asking for the Profit center,

so check that is you rrequirement is to havea Profit center mandatory keep it and ask the ser to eter the Profit center, OR if you want to make only one Profit cneter to be defaulted go to OKB9 and make setting as valuation is necesary, and mean while check for that FSG in OBC4 what it says,,

Check at TCode OBC4.

We have two fields Profit centre and Profitability Segement. Check which one is using by you.
