is it compalsory to implement UWL for leave approval in MSS

Hi All,

i have implemented ESS 50.4 (ITS based) and MSS 60.1.20 (Java iviews) for my client's R/3 system 4.7.

I am also able to create leave request from ESS. But i was surprised to notice that by default MSS doesnt have any iview to approve / reject the leave request.

To get the approve / reject iview in MSS do I have to compulsorily configure UWL?

For UWL do we need to have KM installed in the portal or without KM also we can have UWL configured?

hi,

i dont think we need to install KM for UWL. But yes we need to configure UWL for leave request.. B'coz according to my knowledge workflow is designed that travel your request from person to person for approval.

This reaches to person who is responsible for approval of your request. Now this UWL is configured to this workflow which the display the task of approval to the corresponding user.

thus in short i must say as there is no iview (i guess) to approve this request.. you will need to configure UWL

1. UWL will be required by managers to approve Leave requested submitted by employees.

2. As per the Pre-requisites listed [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/39/a1bb5c4c0d4ab4a417e87ef35f1efa/frameset.htm] KM may not be required on Portal.
