How to use different quantities for same Ordering Unit of same material.

Hi Friends,

1. In 133A plant I am procuring material "XYZ" with 1 Carton = 24 Bottles of Water. I have mentioned this in Material Master.

2. In 133B plant I want to procure material "XYZ" with 1 Carton = 20 Bottles of Water.

But, system don't allow me to enter 2 conversion units with same order unit & base unit of measure in Material Master.

Please tell me the option that can be used.

Regards

Siva

    Hi

Try to achieve same effect by defining 2 Alt UOM 1 Carton = 24 Bottles and 1case = 20 Bottles.

Use Cortons for 133A and cases for 133B.

With similar Alt UOM u cant have 2 conversions.

      hello,

you can't change like this. according to you, suppose

      for 133A 1 CAR 20 BOTTLE

for 133B 1 BOX 30 BOTTLE, but when you asve the data for last one, by default it was saved last one.

so can maintain either CAR or BOX but not the both, if your unit of measurement is same.

      with regards

    Hi,

You can not have the same order unit with different conversion for different plants.

You can try using the concept of order price unit to takle this issue,

    Hi,

Once, carton contains 20 bottles of water, in the other case it contains 24 bottles of water. The conclusion is that carton is not equal to carton (carton <>_ carton)...

I mean carton1 (20BoW) is different from carton2 (24Bow). You should use two different sorts of carton and define them as order units under the suitable plants.

    What is your base unit?

in case of liter or milliliter your scenario may be possible, but if your base unit is bottle, then you should better use different material master as your bottle size does not equal to each other. So a stock overview without restriction to a plant would not make any sense.

    hi ,

the conversion is maintained at clint level, but not at plant level.

maintain two different ordering units like carton and box

and use for plant "133A" and "133B" respectively.

Yes we can not use more than one quantity for same ordering unit.
