Planning functions using DATA_PROVIDER_FILTER don't lock as I expected

Hi experts,

I need your help on a problem regarding the use of planning functions (usually Formulas) in BEx Analyzer. I use a number of planning functions which have as filters not specific IP filters but the DATA_PROVIDER_FILTER parameter. What I expected with this is that the locks that a certain data provider sets would also be set on the function that uses this filter.

For example: query A uses infoprovider = X and an certain infoobject = Y. I wanted this as locks for the planning function.

What is happening is that the locks the planning function sets when I execute it are not those but whatever I have in conditions section of the Formula definition in modeller. Is this right? Can't i make the planning function "inherit" the locks and selections from the query definition? Is there any parameters I missed?

Do you mean to say the lock selection generated by the function is a subset of that generated by the data provider (query), or is it a superset, or some different selection altogether? I would expect it to be a subset so there need not even be a new lock selection obtained; can you explain in a bit more detail the problem and how you found it out?
