It is possible to carry out new pricing in billing document creation. In copy control (VTFL) you have to use pricing type B for the respective item category.

Dear balaji

For quantity, you can try this

Go to VOV7, select your item category. In this maintain K for [Billing Relevance]

Now go to VF01, give the delivery number and do not press Enter. Instead click on [Selection list] on the next screen, select the items you want to bill and click copy and continue if necessary

thanks

Lakshmipathi Sir

As you have suggested for Quantity change in billing, as I understood we can select a particular line item for billing.

Is it possible to increase or reduce the quantity of a line item at the time of billing?

Thanks

You cannot increase the quantity during billing... only reducing the quantity is possible. System allows only the PGI quantity to be billed. When the quantity is reduced during billing the balance quantity will be shown as due for billing and it will always be seen in the billing due list. Until and unless the full quantity is billed the delivery status for that line item will be "being processed".

If you want to change Price as well as quantity , then it is not possible.

How will you do the inventory management if this is made possible (ie quantity is changed at the time of Billing).

Dear Balaji,

Through copy control settings and maintain and determining the new pricing procedure for the billing you can able to have new pricing while creating invoice.

Do the fallowing steps in the IMG

SPRO>IMG>Sales and Distribution>Basic functions>Pricing >Pricing control>Define And Assign Pricing Procedures

Maintain pricing procedures

Define document pricing procedure(For billing)

Assign document pricing procedures to billing types

Define Pricing Procedure Determination(Sales areaCustomer pric procDocument pri proc(Billing) -->Billing pricing procedure)

Do the copy control settings like this

Go to VTFL transaction select your delivery and billing document types then go in to the item level settings here you will find the field called Pricing Type you maintain this field as B -Carry out new pricing.

Maintain the condition records or enter data manually

Now system will determine new pricing procedure while creating billing document.

I hope it will help you,

Regards,

Murali.

Dear Balaji

Yes you can change the price in billing if the same has not been released to FI.

But b4 that go to VTFL, for the combibation of your delivery type and billing type, select your item category and see what is maintained for the field pricing type. Normally G would be maintained there. Assume you have also maintained the same.

Now coming to your question, let us assume you have created a sale order on 01-08-98 for a material and the selling price at that time was INR 500.00. Meanwhile, on 30-08-08 due to some reason, the price is changed to INR 550.00 which you have to update in VK11 with the validity dates from 30-08-08 to 31-12-999 (to date will flow by default and you can change if you want).

So after changing the price in VK11 (note you should change the price only in VK11 and not in VK12 which is a standard practice), go to VF02, input the billing document and condition tab. There on the right bottom, there is a tab Update. Click on that so that a box will appear. Double click on B and see the condition changes now to INR 550.00 in your billing.

Alternatively, in VTFL, if you maintain B, you need not worry about these updation. Irrespective of your sale order price, whatever appears in VK11, that price will only considered by the system.

thanks
