Hi Gurus

Can i block a commetment item for further use of budgeting ? because for the time being i did not want to use a commitment item but in future i want to use that. can i temporarily block it?

Hi,

There is no standard functionality for that. If you use budget structure, then you can just delete the budget/posting address for this commitment and then no usage would be possible. If you do not use budget structure, but still use AVC, then if you put no budget - no posting would be applicable. If you do not wnat to allow budgeting as well, you can use consistency check (FMCCD).

Alternatively, as we did once in one of the projects, you could create a Z-table with the blocked commitments and use a user-exit before creating the budget entry to check whether it's blocked or not.
