Profit segement is reqd

Hi All,

I am new to Controlling.

My end user has created one gl account i.e, 5005116 (same created as cost element). For this gl, in OBC4 profitability segment made as reqd field.

Now, when they are posting MIRO system threws error message like "Field Prof.Segmt is a required field for G/L account 5005116" hence, accounting doc does not generate.

- Is there any assignments in OBYC

- Is there any config in OKB9

Hi Anifi,

Goto FS00.. click on the GL 5005116.

Check the field status variant.

The profitability segment tab must have been suppressed.

Make it optional and you can then generate the accounting document.

In OKB9, you can decide on cost centre/internal order/profit centre based on a grouping criteria of your company code and cost element with or without business area. this is an automatic assignment facility and is more flexible than the default account assignment done in the cost element master record.

Segment information can be given in your Profit Centre master record. When you have created the cost element, you can assign a cost centre and the cost centre in turn can be assigned to a profit centre. The derivation of the segment will happen that way. Try that one.
