    Hi Ramana,

The header mapping is made available in the receiver agreement. It is required in the IDoc adapter, for example, because the IDoc adapter does not know any communication parties.

You will use Header Mapping when you want to use the values from payload.

For example, Let's say you are sending one text file from ABC system to R3 system which involves BPM as a final step. So if I say as a final step "BPM_send_file_2_R3" is sending the data to R3 then, if I don't do the header mapping for sender system in Receiver Agreement then there will be an error regarding no logical system maintained. The reason is "BPM_send_file_2_R3" is not a logical system and it does not exist in R3 as a logical system. So in this case you will use the Header Mapping and map the sending system ABC which exists as a logical system in R3.

I hope It will help you to get the understanding when to use the header mapping.

    Regards,

    Sarvesh

    In B2B scenarios mostly.
