db level

hello senoirs,

can u all help me in staring and stopping server through Db level.

I'm a basis student. and i'm having a IDES server

plz seniors help the procedure to start and stop server through

DB level.

    For which databse you are talking about?? you can get all the information in help.sap.com.

    Hi Manjit,

    You can not start sap from db level.Sap can be started from o/s level only using sapmmc or using command startsap.

    From dblevel you ca start and stop database.

    at os level,

    SQLPLUS "/as sysdba"

    if its giving message connected to idle instances then proceed:

    for start:

    startup open

    for shutdown:

    shutdown immediate
