Logical System Name Not appearing in the Business System

Hi,

Initially we had created a Technical system with Client 700 without a "Logical System Name" in SLD. hence the 'logical system name' in 'business system' was also Blank.

Now, since we are implementing the IDOC to file scenario; we need to maintain the "Logical System Name" in the client and which in turn should reflect in our Business System in SLD.

Though we maintained the Logical System Name in the Technical System --> Client --> Logical System Name; we are unable to see the same(Logical System Name) in Business System ('Integration' tab)

Please also note that Business System is of the ROLE: Integration server.

When we go to business system in SLD ---Integrtaion tab ---Logical System Name -- is still blank.

Can anyone please help us to update the 'Logical system name' in Business System in SLD?

Regards,

Rehan

    Rehan,

If the logical system name has been entered against the Technical system client but does not reflect in the Business System then go to Business System  Technical System (change)  select the client again and choose the save button. If the save button is greyed out then first select client 000 and then reselect the client against which the logical system has been entered. This should now allow you to select the save button. Once saved you should be able to see the logical system reflected on the Business System.

    Rehan,

    1. In XI 3.0 go to the Business System and then select technical system --> change where you can enter the logical system name

    2. In PI 7.0 go to the Business System, select the integration tab where you can enter the logical system name

    3. Or in the configuration, select the Business System --> Service --> Adapter-Specific Identifiers and enter the IDoc adapter logical system

    Regards,

    Mike

      Hi Mike,

We are on PI 7.0 SP11.

      Point1:

when I go to the business system and then to 'Integration' Tab, the field 'Logical System Name' is grayed out.

Is it because of the Role is 'Integration server'.Can we assign the Logical system name to the role: 'Integration engine'?

      Point2:

I also tried going to the Technical system and then udating the 'Logical System Name', I could update it in client 700, but when i come back to Business system its not showing in integration tab.

Point3: in the configuration, select the Business System --> Service --> Adapter-Specific Identifiers and the IDoc adapter logical system field is Grayed out

      Regards,

      Rehan

    Hi,

For SAP system u need to define the logical system and also define the TS & BS as WebAS ABAP.

If u later changed the logical system it will come when u restart the J2EE server using ICICM.

And aslo check in ID service->Adapter specific Identifiers. Logical system shd appear there.

    "Award points if helpful"
