Regarding storage type

HI gurus

Please clarify me

when i am creating a material i am giving one stroage type

and while initial stock entery in mb1c i give another type what it means what is the difference

between two storage type and also

when i am taking stock initally it sits in 998

but i want the stock to move to 001 fixed bin storage

how to do that
