Hi Folks ,

I want to implement an email notification for process chain in the event that they do not start on the scheduled time . Is there a way we can achieve this ?

hi, this info can be retrieved from table RSPCPROCESSLOG. You can compare the starttime with the scheduled time (for type TRIGGER).

if you create a program to compare this you can add the abap as last step in your chain and send the mail in case there is a difference in the two timestamps.

what if the chain do not start at all ( i want to receive notification in this case )

Even though if i add this in the last step of the chain , i cannot achieve this since the chain do not start at all .

you can create an abap that gets first the list of chain that are supposed to be started. You can store this list in a table like tvarv. then check in the above described tables if the chains have been executed and if yes, if they have been started at the supposed time. all this info can then be send via mail in the abap. there are plenty of examples on SCN on how to send a mail from an abap.
