Universal connection with excel in design studio

hi

I created a universal connection using odbc and publish this to BO server. When I use this universal connection in the design studio and press edit query specification I get this error

"[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified"

Design studio version: Release 1.6 SP5 Patch 3 (Version: 16.5.4)

Hello Ali,

Have you created a 32-bit ODBC or 64-bit ODBC?

Thanks,

Chandrasekhar

Yes, I placed the excel file on my BO server using the remote desktop and created the setup of odbc 32 bit driver with

the path to that excel file on BO server. when I try to create a relational connection directly in the repository resource in

IDT and choose odbc driver from generic it doesn't show my data source name in the dropdown list.

BO 4.x only supports 64bit server OS. I don't think you can run design studio with BOXI3.1 or older releases.
