Why is document not an object type when creating change packages?

We are trying to implement the use of change hierarchies in our SAP ERP system, so we will be using lead change masters and change packages. I have figured out how to activate this functionality. However, one thing that I've noticed is that the Document object is missing all of the check boxes under Object Types.

Steps to Replicate Issue:

  1. Go to transaction code CC01 in SAP GUI.
  2. Select "Change Master" under Type and "Change Package" under Function.
  3. Fill in the necessary information in the header.
  4. Go to the Object Types tab. See that there are no check boxes available for Document.
  5. Go to the Objects tab. Again, there's no Document tab. The closest to it is the Doc. Struc. tab. However, because of this, I also cannot directly assign a change package to a DIR when I'm creating one using transaction code CV01N. I get an error message saying "Processing of this object not supported by change number [whatever change package I have created]".

Previous Way of Creating Change Master (Without Change Hierarchy):

As you can see, this issue did not happen with our previous way of generating change masters (without using the change hierarchy). Document had check boxes available under Object Types and it was also seen as a tab in the Objects tab. In fact, Document and Document Structure were two different tabs here.

Can someone please explain to me why Document has no available check boxes under Object Types with a change package?
