Hi,
what is TIN Number? Where it is maintained?
Is it the same as LST number?
Where to maintain it in 4.6C?

hi ajit
1.Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN)
The Tax Payer's Identification Number (TIN) is new unique registration number that is used for identification of dealers registered under VAT. It consists of 11 digit numerals and will be unique throughout the country. First two characters will represent the State Code as used by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The set-up of the next nine characters may, however, be different in different States.
2. In sap it is maintained vendor master , customer master & agents, HR master
3.Before introducing VAT in India, each traders, manufacturing , delars has to register locally
(state level) where it is called LST (Local Sales Tax). Now it is TIN numbers (ie., after VAT system)
hope this helps u

TIN stands for Tax Identification No (VAT).
The LST has been phased out and replaced by VAT.
In customer master and vendor master there is field to maintain VAT registration number, TIN no is maintained there.
