How to display FAQ in SAP Portal

Dear All,

I'm trying to display "Help" or "Tutorial" for users by creating FAQ (Frequently asked questions) on ESS/ MSS in Enterprise Portal. Do we need to use KM iView where we can upload the documents as links? But my idea is to display the content in the form of FAQs supported by search functionality. I have convereted all my help content in HTML format but need to know how we can display it nicely for users without navigating a bunch of links for web pages?

Hi AbdulGaffar

There are a few different resources available in KM through which you could implement such a scenario. I guess depending on your own preference you could implement it through a page containing several iViews each of which can display different content or types of content.

For example, a KM Doc iView can be used to display a specific document should you wish to display a document containing links to several other documents or topics. This would be most useful should you wish to display a HTML File containing links to various topics/resources.

A KM Navigation iView can be used to display a collection of documents within a folder should you wish to have a selection of documents on various topics displayed to the end user. It would simply be a case of storing all such documents in a specific folder and then point the KM Navigation iView at this folder. The documents located in this folder would then be displayed as a series of links which can then be clicked on and opened through this iView.

Finally, you could create an index for the FAQ content and then configure a KM Search iView with the source to be this index. This would allow end users to search for content within the FAQ. The search results would contain links to the various documents containing the search terms and these documents can then be access by clicking on the link in the search results.

The help documentation for these resources can be found in the following locations -

KM Doc iView

KM Navigation iView

KM Search iView

I hope this information will be of some assistance to you, good luck!

Kind regards,

Cathal
