SAP Analytics Cloud Dynamic Date Does Not Allow For Previous Month

Recently the dynamic date filter functionality in SAC was changed, and now I can no longer select previous month or previous year like I can with current month or current year. When I select just month and select 1 back it selects the current month also even though I do have not turned on include range up to current period. How can I select just for the previous month or year?

Can you explain how could obtain the previous month from actual date?

I know this problem was from last year but do you know if this bug was fixed in the actual version of SAC ? I have the same problem and I use the alternate solution provided by Steve Isaac below.

I managed to do this by creating an advanced filter incljuding the previous 12 months and excluding the current month:
