Introductory SAP integration

To begin, I have very little knowledge on SAP.. I am looking for a bit of guidance.

Our company is developing a mobile and web app SaaS platform. The platform is being sold to companies who have sub contractors working for them throughout the year. The sub contractors have hired workers who work for them.

One feature of our platform (application) is the registering of hired workers and submitting their daily time sheets and any needed contracts. A company we have been in contact with mentioned that they use SAP R/3, along with tcodes PA30 & PA42, to handle the payroll/contracts of their subcontractors and their subcontractors' hired workers.. that is all the information I have at the moment.

Currently, the time sheets and contracts are being sent to our customer in excel/pdf format. We would like to integrate SAP into our platform to further expedite the payroll and handling of contracts process.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Hi Pete - many moons ago we used SAP HR to manage this at a different company I worked for

Now I would believe that SAP would want you to look at a cloud-based solution such as SAP Fieldglass for this - see

Thank you for the response Tammy. We are looking into Fieldglass and it looks like it may be what we need for time sheets.

What about initially enrolling employees into the SAP system? Currently employees fill out hard-copy paperwork (name, address, emergency contact, etc.). This information is then manually entered into the SAP system (using PA42 T-code). We would like to create a digital form, accessible via web link, that new employees can fill out, and upon approval from an administrator, be uploaded into SAP.
