Hi,

DBM is an add-on. So you need to install it separately.

See [DBM t-codes|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_dbm600/helpdata/en/6F/9FC1FA5E8F44B2858B845A3AD1249E/frameset.htm].

Hi,

VMS is part of ECC. So no problem.

I think your query was about VMS. I'm not sure how DBM has come into this conversation. As the name suggests, DBM is used by Sales & Service Organisations (Dealer - whether OEM owned or independent).

DBM - SAP for Automotive enables comprehensive management of all business processes for dealerships, whether independent, part of a dealer group, or OEM-owned. SAP integrates dealer-specific processes such as vehicle sales, vehicle service, service-parts management, marketing, and finance.

hi,

can u suggest hw to create a vehicle master in VMS. What i exactly want is to create a vehicle and see this vehicle in vehicle manager. is it suing std MM01 or do we have any special transaction for this.

HI there..

You would need to use transaction called VELO to create a vehicle in VMS.

Remember, everything that you want to do on the process level, would be done in the same VELO transaction. For standard ECC steps you can use the ECC transactions, but you need to develop the links between VMS and ECC..

Along with the ECC you would get the standard customizing, so you should be able to create a vehicle.

The vehicle master in VMS is Action driven (also Matrix driven), so you would have to use actions for each and every process step.

To start with, select the Create Vehicle Action (CREA) with in the Action field.

As VMS is Matrix driven also, you would see the list of relevent actions, after the first step.

Browse through the SAP Help along with the VMS transactions, you should be able to got on to speed in few minutes.. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_dimp50/helpdata/EN/91/88c43ace7a3b46e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Hi STUDENT,

I assume your question(s) is answered. SAP online doc should help to get the basis of the VMS. SAP University offers also a 5-day training on the VMS.

Best, Ute

Hi,

To create a vehicle in VMS, you need to use txn VELO and action CREA. Also ensure that your user id is assigned the role 'VMAT' in txn VELORU.

Hope this helps..
