Access desktop error

Former Member

Hi,

I have a user who encountered this error on logging in :

Error occurred while trying to access desktop: "portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop". The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.

There was thread here with a similar issue but I'm not able to follow the recommendation - whatever was recommended was not applicable.

Also, there doesn't seem to be any issue with the role as the same role was assigned to another user and he had no problem at all.

I have removed the role and reassigned it and it's the same error.

Is there some other place that I should look at?

Thanks

Hi Sisab ,

Navigate to system admin -> permissions. Roght click the desktop. Open permissions. Give read only permissions to Everyone group.

check the Rule collection whether there is any thing wrong in setting the correct desktop based on the condition.

Hi Koti,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Am I right to assume that the permission setting is global? Other users are not getting the error, only this one particular user, regardless of which PC he logs into. Do I still need to set this, then?

I'm very puzzled.

Give readonly permission to everyone group again and check.

check the master rule collecttion for the setting , whether correct desktop assigned to that user or not.
