Hello Experts,

We're getting below error:

"sl12hdbnw75:HDB:bl2adm /usr/sap/BL2/HDB02 54> hdbindexserver -console

Unable to obtain Service Database Name via environment variable $DBNAME!if started by hand use: DBNAME=XXX hdbindexserver

Do NOT use daemon.ini sections [indexserver] or [indexserver.c] to configure the service in mdc; instead use ALTER DATABASE ... ADD 'indexserver'.

initialization of service failed!

We're followed the below blogs but not able to resolve this issue:

https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-33097

http://www.sap4everyone.com/index.php/m-database/21-hana/78-sap-hana-reset-the-system-user-password

This has to be resolved from OS level as we have issues with HANA studio.

Any ideas are highly appreciated.

Thanks & best regards,

Sreenu

Hi Sreenu,

The guide you referred to reset SYSTEM user password might be too old.
It could only apply to single container.
Follow the steps below:

Reset the SYSTEM User Password of a Tenant Database

Best regards,
