Hi PP Gurus,

I have a scenario on my hand on which my first choice will Variant but they are a purely MTS company and at the desptach stage only they go for configuring material.

Business Scenario:

Fiber is produced by using a Silica Preform with Bar Coded no. The fiber has three variants as natural fiber mainly 652D, 652C, 657A.

From one preform they produce for ex. 10 reels/ spools, they term them as mother spool. Each spool gets a unik spool ID. Then the mother spool goes to proof Testing Option 1 Then those spools are cut to standard length with a new Spool Id ref to Mother Spool.

Option 2 If the fiber breaks at non std. length then it is further cut into the nearest lower std lenght with a new spool ID.

Then It goes to testing /QA Option 1 Directly passed material will go to customer.

Option 2 If reqd. it will go to colouring.

Now they have 13 colors with approx 24 length variants.

So totaly They have 3 main types * 24 Lenghts * 13 colours = 936 combinations.

There requirement which I understood is Stock with hiracrchy Type of fiber ex. 652D-lengthspool--colors(optional)

As I understood

1. Silica perfom -->

2. Fiber(mother spool)-->Spool ID M01

3. Std length fiber spool (spool id ref to mather spool)-spool id-M0101 or M0102

4. QA

5. colouring -->M0101 with colour

Now tell me from which stage your process will follow the path as per customer order?
