how to maintain IMEI number in material master

Hi experts,

our comapny is plainning to produce mobile phones which have unique IMEI numbers. The Dual SIM mobiles have 2 - IMEI numbers.

So we have to mainain those numbers in material master but there is no field to do so .

how can we handle this ?is there any way to add fields in Materia master?

according to wikipedia: The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a number, usually unique, to identify 3GPP and iDENmobile phones

Based on that is the material master the wrong place to maintain such info, except you plan to create an individual material master for each mobile phone that you produce.

Even using batch numbers would not really be a good solution, so the closest thing is a serial number which can be used in various processes. Its up to you whether you want manage you stock already with serial numbers or if you need this info only when you create deliveries.

Thanks for the answer ,in fact we will have to manage serial number ,in addition to imei number.,will need those IMEI numbers anyway

so i don't know how SAP can manage those IMEIs
