I want to change PO type description (NB type) from PO/Inventory/stock to 'Standard Purchase Order/ Inventory/stock'
Means to increase length of character ..
Is it possible ?

it may not fit, but see yourself in IMG > MM > Purchasing > purchase order > define document type
The field is in table T161T and has domain TEXT20. You would need to assign a different domain (in SE11).
This is a modification, and as you probably kow, SAP does not take any responsibility for data loss and crashes based on modifications.
you can change the description upto 20 char as per the std SAP.
