Accumulation of Calculated KF's using replacement path

I want to total days absent using a replacement path for the employee level of aggregation. I have created the replacement path and can get the totals as indicated in the tutorial.

However I do not want the rows that contain each of the date ranges. Hiding the dates only eliminates the columns but not the rows. How do I get from:

Empoyee From Date To Date # Days Absent

0001 20080101 20080102 1

0001 20080201 20080204 2

To:

Employee Total Days Absent

0001 3

When I try to do this I get

Employee Total Days Absent

0001 X

Hi,

Try maintaining From Date & To Date in free characteristics.

Please right click on calculated key figures -> Propertires - Select summation in calculate result as.

I hope this work.
