Using SAC Business Content with our own data

Former Member

Hi all,

I hope you are doing well,

I have a question concerning the use of SAC Business Content as a Standard Report. I have successfully imported SAC Business Content "SAP CRM - Sales Performance - Hybris C4C" (see screenshot below) and now i want to use this Business Content with data from my own C4C System instead of the standard data that come with the report. I have also already configured the connection between SAC and C4C via OData. Is it possible or must i start from scratch by creating my own model / query like a regular project?

Thank you and have a nice day

Gary

Hello Gary - you do not need to start from scratch - you could copy the Business Content model, and then connect your data; that is what I have done with some of the Business Content coming from Solution Manager.

Hello Tammy, many thanks for ur answer,

i copied the model and connected with my data. but i see many errors by mapping the data (see screenshot) the issue says that the data doesnt match, although i mapped the data with the same column name from BC, do u know how to handle this issue ?

Hi Gary - I am not familiar with C4C, but in my case, it meant I needed to update the Public Dimensions with master data.

Is there a public dimension for Opportunity?

Hi Tammy,

it means, first you need to update all the Public Dimensions with own master data, that are being used to the main model. Is it correct ?

i dont see the "replace" import method to replace the Public Dimension standard data with my own data:

with Update import method i always see the old/standard data from BC that i dont want to see in my story...

Hi Gary - your model may be different, but in mine, I clicked on the hyperlinks of the public dimensions to update - once you are in the Public Dimensions screen you should be able to edit/delete the supplied master data (it should be very small, ideally).

Hi Tammy,

i successfully updated a public dimension, but when i try to delete the old/standard data from business content i got following error message: (it doesnt find the original data and can't accept it)

I see why; it is used in other models. Did you copy the model to your own space?

OK, Gary, it sounds like you already did what I asked; I am out of ideas especially since I don't have C4C. I hope others in the community can assist...

Hi,

I was looking at the supporting documentation https://help.sap.com/doc/f04e1b585e9e40548d4e8de7582c9dfc/release/en-US/Documentation_SAP_SAC_CONT.p... .. your scenario is from page 234 onwards.

You're right, these are all planning-enabled models, so I'm not sure you will be able to edit them, or consume the planning functionality inthe front end...

that being said, the general process for maintaining these 'import data' models is as follows: 1) Delete Facts from models. 2) Reload master data. 3) Reload transactional data. 3) setup incremental data-appending load. (that makes it sound easy!)

I noticed that in this example, there is a footer that says (page 236): "To load master data into this model please the generic oData connector where the connector URL syntax is https://<system>/sap/c4c/odata/v1/c4codata and use the appropriate query to load the master data"

.. so this content is extra tricky to repoint due to a mix of Hybris for Customer (for the transactions) AND generic Odata connector (for the public dimensions/masterdata).

There's a neat blog on how to go through this re-load data approach in a stepwise fashion, albeit for SuccessFactors HR models - the approach is the same: https://blogs.sap.com/2018/12/20/sap-analytics-cloud-content-customize-hr-content/#3

Best of luck

regards

H

p.s. i'd recommend you rebuild the models as per the documentation, bi only, and take it from there. use it as inspiration - develop your own stories.

Hi all,

I have successfully imported SAC Business Content "SAP CRM - Sales Performance - Hybris C4C" too. But I'm not able to upload data into the model created as a copy.

I'm wondering if you have the Planning license. I'm afraid that I can't change or upload data in a Planning enabled model with BI license.

Best regards.
