PO Release Strategy : 2 Requirements

Folks-

I have a few issues ...

1. If the line item is a contract line item , the PO should be released automatically

2. If the PO has a WBS element , then the PO should be released automatically

3. If the PO has atleast one line item which needs to go through PO release strategy, then the whole PO has to go through the release strategy.

If you don't mind, please give detailed expanation as to how I can accomplish the task.

Cheers,

C

    HI,

    1. If the line item is a contract line item , the PO should be released automatically

There is no setting to configure to have release of PO automatically. either you can have or not have release procedure. In this case the you can define a different document type in PO to make use of contracts in creation of PO's and do not configure the release procedure for this document type

    2. If the PO has a WBS element , then the PO should be released automatically

It is the same explaination as the the 1st one. You can club the 1 & 2 requirement and create a single document type

    3. If the PO has atleast one line item which needs to go through PO release strategy, then the whole PO has to go through the release strategy.

This will happen when you configure release stratergy for PO as the release stratergy is applicable for PO at the header level and not at the item level.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Kiran

    Hi,

For point 1 you need to create a new doument type and based on that you can configure release procedure, if you excluded that new document type from all release strtegies you have defined in your system, there is no release str for that in place the document is considered for next process.

For point 2 remove the character cost center from you all strategies so that there will not be any restrictions to process account assigned POs. Or you have to create new doc type again for these account assigned PO and do not configure any release procedure for that.

For point 3 PO can only be released at header level, if you configured the release procedure your requirement will meet automatically. (Only PRs can be released at both item and header level.)

    Thanks and Regards,

look po is always released at header level so there is no question on looking at the line item type of release and in case you want to achive the requirement 2 and 3 then configure a new and separate document type so that when ever user wants to create a po on the basis of the contract so he will be making use of diifferent document type and which will nto be mentioned in th erelease strategy so it will not get blocked
