Reports not linked to the right universe (Change when editing query)

Hello,

I have problems with some webi reports.

When I open them , they seem OK. Objects are those what I want.

But when I edit the query, the objects in the query panel are NOT from the right universe !

I don't know why there is a swap with these universes.

Reports are from the alpha universe. When I open then, the objects are also from the alpha universe.

But when I edit the query, objects in the query panel are from another bravo universe. Alpha and bravo are completely different.

It seems that there is a mismatch somewhere between the universe ID in the report and the universe ID in the CMC (Or anywhere else).

Does someone have an idea to help me to solve that ?

Thanks

Didier

If I understand this correctly, it sounds like this could be an import wizard issue when going from one server to the next.

This may be old news but just in case: When moving web intelligence reports from a source server to a destination server without the Universes at the same time the webi documents will not reference the Universe on the source server. The web intelligence documents will look for Universes with the same CUID identifier. So even if the Universe name changes the web intelligence document still finds the original universe based on the CUID.

You can fix this by importing both the web intelligence documents and universes together.

Or, you can reset the web intelligence reports to point to the new Universe manually. To do this, edit the query. In the left panel choose 'Properties' and you will see the Universe listed there. You should be able to switch it from here.

I don't know if this is the exact issue your facing but hope there's something useful in here to address your issue.

Hi,

In fact, our normal way to work is make changes in DEV. Promote to TEST with import wizard and if it is OK migrate to PRODUCTION also with wizard.

So, I was working in DEV environment. I made some changes to my universe and I exported it.

But the export failed. May be the first time it happened to me. The designer application crashed.

So it was unable to me to import the universe because it was not correctly exported and i was unable to open the local save of the universe with designer to export it again. I had a message that i am not connected to the right CMC.

I have decided to migrated back the latest version of the universe that was in the TEST environment with the import wizard.

The same manipulation was made before but I had not problems with reports.

It seems that when the export crashed, the universe reference in report have changed.

Is there any way to solve that ?

Best regards

Didier

It is impossible to me to change the universe connection because when I open the query panel to modify the connected universe, all objects disappear and are replaced by ones from the wrong universe.
