Dynamically update a KF name?

I have numerous key figures which are based on the year (past, present, and future).

For example, I have a key figure which identifies the percent difference between current year sales and last year's sales. The key figure is: "2008 Total vs 2007 Total % Chg."

Every year, I have to update this book to adjust for the new year.

I'd like to be able to remove this manual intervention, while still displaying year. Is there any way that I can dynamically set the KF name based on the date? So, when Jan 1, 2009 hits the key figure would automatically roll over to the new year and display "2009 Total vs 2008 Total % Chg".

You would think a system as complex as SCM would have that a method to accomplish this.

I also tried the same thing but was unsuccessfull. So as per my understanding its not possible...

If your requirement will be fulfilled by dynamically changing the color or something like that, you can use Macros for that...
