Process Chain - status Undefined

Hi Guys

Recently we updated the patch and after that the process chains are going into the undefined status(They are not failing). If we manually load it works fine. not sure where to start search from as I donu2019t have any error in hand and the warning states something like this

u201CProcess Activate DataStore Object Data, variant Activate Data ZXX_DS04 has status Undefined (instance)u201D

We are on SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 - SP 15 Patch 17...

Any resolution on this problem. cos we are having this problem everyday and need to run the steps manually.

We have the same problem in DEV and QA too... is there anything to do with the patch (just a guess as things were working fine till the day before the patch)

Looks like the process type "activate DSO" has lost its variant ,go to the maintenance of the process type (maintain variant) via RSPC and check for the same if the DSO name is coming up

    Hope it Helps

Usually when the chain doesn't runs and goes to an undefined state ,try descheduling the chain and scheduling it back.

Or in case the chain stops in between and doesn't progress at all, try reactivating the chain for it may run fine the next time it runs.

Try checking the planning and check mode of the process chain amy be there is an error in it.

When you got to the planning view of a (non scheduled or non active chain) if any variant other thatn the start is in green ,go in the context menu of the variant and click on "Display schedule Jobs" , cancel the job in ther and reactivate the whole chain.

    Hope it will be expedite.
