Federated Portal - User Experience

Hello Everyone,

We've implemented Federated Portal Network between our Corporate NetWeaver Portal and the BI Portal which are both on NW version 7 sp15. Users access the NetWeaver Portal to access their BI Reports and Dashboards. We found that when a user goes to a Dashboard on the NetWeaver Portal, s/he has to wait with a blank screen until something shows up. The same dashboard when accessed through the BI Portal (Producer Portal) shows a rotating dial informing the user that the report is running.

Why doesn't the rotating dial appear through the NetWeaver Portal? Is this a bug or the way it behaves? For Dashboards which are performance intensive and take time to show up, it provides a bad user experience as the user is clueless about if the report is running or the whole thing is stuck.
