SM12 Lock table

Dear all,

My program is doing a huge Zxxx table update. But before i perform table updating i want to place a lock on Zxxx table, and my table primary key fields are:

1. MANDT

2. MATNR

3. BWKEY

For each processing, program will handle at least 10,000 material. Which means i need to place 10,000 locks for the table.

I would like to know if there is number of lock limit that a program can place each session?

Please also comment if i got the primary key fields sequence arrangement correct ?

Thanks in advance.

Look at OSS [Note 13907 - System error in the block handler, overflow lock table|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/13907]

You could also consider locking the whole table by using a generic key.

    Regards

here if you want to lock entire table then create a Lock object of that table... and use the function modules generated by this object to lock the tale...

with this lock object you can have entry level lock as well...
