Linking new Internal Order # to history after IO was archived and recreated

The Problem:

We recently archived and deleted an internal order. Later on, it was discovered that the order still needed to be used by the business and they needed the same order number.

So we used the number range control on the order type to create a new order with the same number as the previously deleted one.

The problem is that when looking at the order balance, eventhough you can see historical data on the order via some reports, it is not possible to see the balance using the newly created order. Basically, it shows as zero balance. We cannot also call up a report using the order number as a query criteria. You can see the detail data if you go directly to the CO and PCA tables.

Question:

Is there a way to relink the new order number to the actual historical data that still exist in the system? Why is SAP not able to use the new master data to call up existing history when the order number and type is exactly the same as the previous one?

Thanks,

Sam

because the number you can see has nothing to do with the internal representation

of the order code. The only way to get back to life the archived order would be to

ask SAP to "reload" the archived object.

OK. Thanks. I guess I figured has much but thought there was a way to do it without involving SLO.
