how does XI handle <!DOCTYPE>

how does XI handle <!DOCTYPE>?

I import a DTD into XI the <!DOCTYPE cXML SYSTEM "URL"> tag is missing and as a result the target system doesn't accept the payload posted.

Any suggestions?

An XSLT mapping to include the IDOCTYPE tag resolved the issue
