Create a transaction iView using the iView Wizard in the portal under Content Administration. Assign it the transaction you want to run. Add the iView to a page if you like. Add the iView/page to the ESS workset you want it in (or create a new one). If you put it in a new workset, add that workset to your ESS role. Viola....it will be part of ESS. You might need to do some other things if you are using the Homepage Framework and want it to show as a service, but that is easy too.

Since you mentioned R/3, I won't just assume you are using ECC and/or the portal....so if you are on "old" ESS (ie ITS based), you will simply create an ITS service and as a service parameter for "transaction", assign it the transaction you want. Also, set the parameter to automatically generate templates for you. Now, add this ITS service into your ESS menu (via config).

Hi Chris,

I also have a similar requirement, and I created few transaction ivews, but followings are the problems that I am facing, please help me to sought out this problems:

1. whenever a user clicks on the transaction iview it opens in new window and I want it to open in content area only....I have set the property "Display in Content Area", still I am facing this prob.

2. As i have 2-3 transaction iviews in my ESS portal, users are able to navigate from one tcode to another just by clicking on tranaction iview BUT they should actually navigate through proper portal path to open another tranaction iview. Is there any way to solve it.

3. whenever transaction iview is opened LOGON pad also pops up....which i dont want.

Hoping some helpful response from all u sap gurus.

Regards.

JJ
